View Full Version : omq teh red
I went to Futureshop and got a replacement for my screwed up card. They gave me a Radeon 7000 in return. Now, for some reason, the card seems to be giving me whacked out visuals on sites. Basically, there's red dots all over the place.

I have no idea what could be causing this, since last night it was working fine. Meanwhile, I'll try to fix the problem on my own.
Edit: Okay, don't ask me how, but the problem seems to have fixed itself.

How big is your PSU? That could have been it. Or it could just be a bad card. Could also have been overheating.
By the way, those lines are **** cool. Look like the Deus Ex lasers! http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif

It looks like your card is getting overheated. You arent overclocking it are you?
Maybe some cooling is needed in your case.

Yeah, I have a feeling I'm going to need to buy a fan for the card. It only came with a heatsink.

Heh... Now that Emon mentionned it, I have a craving to load up Deus Ex. http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif
I doubt overheating would cause that... Maybe it would, but it would have to be overheating a bunch methinks. Do you get any kinds of artifacts in games, namely fuzzy wireframes? Or freezing at all? Actually, anything that uses the 3D portion of your GPU?

I've seen overheating have effects like that.
Yeah, the card could be overheating. I somehow don't get the artifacts anymore, but the games I've tried using end up freezing at one point or another, except JO. It hasn't actually frozen yet.
I'm sure it wouldn't have to be overheating that much, because, like I said, it only has a stock heatsink on it. It was the same case with my old card. It couldn't really be OC'ed because of it.
And now JO has frozen as well... The games keep freezing. No matter what I've done. I even tried under-clocking the card and it still froze. I might end up having to return this card, too.
