Can't connect to the holoner :(

I haven't been able to get a good connection to the holonet irc server at all this year. At first, I thought it was just the pos network that my apartment has, but I've tried on campus and that hasn't worked either (and we have 2 oc3s here on campus!) What happens is that I time out. No "cannot resolve server" or message indicating that I might be banned, I just time out. Many of you who hang out in the chat know that when I do manage to connect I usually time out after a minute or so, and even when I am connected it can take a few minutes before I recieve messages. I get pretty good pings with the holonet server, they are never above 110, so I am perplexed as to why this is happening. I don't seem to have any problems with other irc servers. Any suggestions? The forums aren't enough to fufill my massassi appetite! I need the chat!

How would I go about finding out if I'm banned from the whole server... even though I don't think this is the case, I've tried from 2 different computers on the same network and I get the same problems on both.

I don't understand why I would time out everytime, my ping between me and the server is never greater than 110...

I can't connect to irc.holonet.org with mIRC, but can with x-chat. Try another client.

Both XChat and Trillian give me the same messages, they tell me that I time out every time I try to connect. http://forums.massassi.net/html/frown.gif I have trillian set to attempt to connect once every minute, and sometimes I'll come back to my computer after being away to find that I did eventually connect but timed out again within a few minutes...

For some reason, today, out of the blue, I managed to connect without any problems! It's been working fine for the past few hours, no timing out or anything, so I think the problem may have finally fixed itself!! http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif
