DVD video problems [Archive] - The Massassi Temple: Forums

I believe the problem started when I installed my GeForce 3 a while ago. The video on my DVDs no longer works. The audio and everything works, but the video is jsut black. I'm running an older Dell Dimension that came with CineMaster 98 C-3.0 stuff. It was working until I installed my GeForce 3. (i think, I don't remember if that is exactly when it stopped working.)

Have you tried more than one peice of DVD software? Also, do you know if your DVD player was hardware accelerated?

I have no idea why this worked for my when my ATI Radeon VE's DVD player would play only black, but here it goes: If you're trying to play in full screen, do a restore so it's in a window, then maximize it again to full screen. No idea why.
