my brother in law got here last night and brought with him a Nomad MuVo mp3 player... he's at work with my dad right now but this thing is awesome as far as i've seen.
1hr 10mins of music at 128kbit and it stores files not just mp3s.
and of course the thing is the size of my thumb =)
just thought i'd tell everyone that the thing is cool and I may get it instead of an iPod one of these days.
anyway, any other mp3 players worthy of note for me to take into consideration for next year?

You can't place the MuVo in the same sentence with an iPod. I personally like the MuVo because its so small, and portability is a huge deal to me.

ok Ag, you are forgetting the iPod is the size of a deck of cards. that's small enough to fit in the palm of your hand.
not to mention 5gb is the smallest and it transfers files as well as mp3s (the MuVo does too... but 5gb vs 64-128mb =)
anyway, either way they are great mp3 players just hope I can get money for one =P
*holds up a sign: now accepting donations of cash or mp3 players =P*

i've got the creative labs 20gb jukebox mp3 player, apart from the size its great, thinking of updating when i get the money to this.....

basically the ipod but cheaper, i think....
i was going to get a small player like the MuVo but i thought long and hard and wanted something where was wasn't going to have to listen to something predetermined, with the big ones (5gb+) you have your whole collection to choose from, much better.....although size was a problem with the first ones, can't figure out how they get them so small, any ideas?

Didn't know it was that small. Sounds pretty good to me.
James - Most of them use 2.5" laptop hard drives.

the iPod's HDD is actually smaller than a laptop hard drive. which is of course why it can be the size of a deck of cards =)

thats what i'm wondering, are they just normal hard drives just with smaller diameter disks?...

Archos 20 gig recorder. I love it. USB 2.0 compatible.
