Lately I've been getting nice happy seemingly random courtesy-reboots... and when it gets done displaying the mobo logo, I shows a message saying (still in dos) "Hardware monitor found an error. Enter power setup menu for details."
Then, it gives me a choice to go on or enter the BIOs... well I go into BIOS, enter power setup menu, and choose "harware monitor" ... and I see absolutely nothing that could be described as "error details."

Any idea what could be causing this, and how to fix it? Thanks http://forums.massassi.net/html/frown.gif

This is the first major problem I've ever had on my new computer... I'm actually kinda proud http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif

(It's windows 2k, if anyone wants to know... if it even makes a difference...)

Would you mind posting what the hardware monitor tells you?

uh... well that's just it. It doesn't tell me a single thing. I go into BIOs, and I see a bunch of numbers fluctuating that look more like diagnostics (temperature, volt stuff, I donno all the stuff I don't know about) and it doesn't say a single thing about any "error".. :\

Finally it decided to tell me what's wrong!

CPU's getting too hot. It was up at like 78 degrees Celsius... what do I do about this? Right now I've just pulled the computer out from between my desk and bed to maybe give it a bit more air flow... do I need a better fan?
