Hey was just wondering if anyone could help me, I'm having trouble with XP. Well it's just a minor thing compared to what has been going on, but anyways. I recently had to get a new harddrive installed, well I left it up to the computer shop to put Windows XP on the computer again since I didn't know what to do. And I really don't trust myself with it.. Well when they made it, the main user they made as "Windows User", nothin specific or anything.

Well when I was setting up the different desktop profiles, I changed windows user to my name because it's basically my computer. However, even though several things accepted the change, alot of key things still show me as 'windows user'. Such as task manager like in the pic:

However it's accepted my name when it comes to things like my documents. Such as when I browse through my computer and I look at my 'my documents' it says Jedigreedo not Windows user.

Anyone experianced this as well? It's really not causing any trouble, it's just really annoying.

Also, I've been having trouble with my displays. When I started personalizing my desktop I had it set in 1072xwhatever to try it out. I didn't like it much so I went back to 800x600 like I had on my original desktops. However I installed and ran alot of programs while in 1072, but when I enlarged them they seemed larger than when I ran 800x600 on my earlier desktops.

Maybe it's just me and not seeing how things looked on the computer for a couple weeks then running on 1072 for a few days. Things just feel larger nonetheless though, larger than they should be in the standard 800x600 format. Anybody ever delt with this as well?

It's 1024x768.

As for your first problem, that's because the programs were installed under the old username. The only real solution is to reinstall them.

And for 800x600 problem, you're probably just not used to 800x600 anymore.

Could you rename the directory of the new username to the old username? Or would that just screw it up?

Maybe you were using 800x600 small fonts before. To check that, goto display properties where you set you resolution, then click "advanced" and check. if it's small fonts, you arent used to 800x600 anymore http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif if not, then set it to small fonts.
