View Full Version : Redirection Problems

Ok, I'm getting frusterated with this problem.

When I type in www.geocities.com, (http://www.geocities.com,) it will bring me up to a search engine (no name listed). Now, geocities is the only site that does this. I've tried to fix it so far by:

A) SpyWare checks with both adaware and spybot
B) Deletion of Cookies and Temp. Internet Files
C) Tried using Opera (I'm on IE), and it still doesn't work

If anyone has any ideas, post them here please. I've just about run out.

BTW, I don't have Morpheus, Kazaa or any file sharing programs installed.

Sounds like a DNS problem. Just let it work itself out. It might take a day or 2. You can live without geocities for that long, can't you? http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif

geocities.com resolves to 66.218.77.68 (http://66.218.77.68), for me. Try the link.

Cool Matty - Good idea, but I've had this problem for about 2 weeks now http://forums.massassi.net/html/frown.gif

Korin - that brings me to a "We've encountered an error page", which is a yahoo page. I can still reach yahoo.geocities.com with no problems, it's just the geocities.com sites.

Check your HOSTS file. A peice of spyware might have altered it to redirect geocities traffic...
