View Full Version : Problems with Cd drives.
this is going to sound odd, but i havent had to use my cd drives since the power outage, and i just noticed, that one of them is completely dead, and one will take in and spit out cds but isnt being detected by the computer. i've tried rebooting, shutting down, shutting down then plugging/replugging. i dont know what else to do.
can anyone help at all?

Try going into your BIOS and detecting the CDROM's in there. If your battery is running low or dead it may have 'undetected' them.
Is there an error of any kind coming up?

Try setting the channels your CD drives are on to autodetect, if they aren't already. If you don't know which are, set them all.

No. Wait. Have you recently installed and uninstalled a burning program?
I had a problem when i tried roxio and it put a registry entry in my registry so that when i uninstalled it my drives were inoperable.
