I am running a sb live 5.1 gamer and i know that it is not wholly compatible with xp, but I had it working for a while. The problem is that when you install the drivers fresh, this program called devldr32.exe, which is a driver for the card, starts itself up 3 times when starting windows, one as a network service, one as a local service, and one under my user name. It takes windows a long time to log on, and if you look in device manager, the 3 programs are all taking up my cpu usage evenly, about 30% for each. I cannot stop any of them, and I can only find one copy of this file on my comp. I tried downloading the new drivers, but they will not install, so I really dont know what to do.

Ermm try deleting the drivers you have, then try installing the new ones.

I have Win2k, which is very similar, and SB Live! works fine for me.
