Basically I just bought DX:2 and found out I dont have pixel shading on my card. Ya, I have one of those nVidia GeForce4 MX 440s.
What's the best video card I can buy for around $200-300?
Also, if you know of any websites where I can order a card cheaper than I could find it in stores, let me know.

I'd look at a Radeon 9600XT.

Might want to look into that, I heard the 6800 is one of the best card out atm

No, no, no, die, and ... um... no?
A. 6800 plain is a lower end of that series (Sort of like the Geforce 4 MXes).
B. Radeon > Geforce

Check the price on the Radeon 9600XT. And that's a retail box, with ATi's warranty. Not to shabby, if I do say so myself. (And I do say so myself.)
And if you are willing to spend in your upper range, look at an ATi Radeon 9800 Pro.

I'd go with the 6800 as grim suggested. Check this out: http://www.hardavenue.com/reviews/gf68003.shtml
The 6800 basic outpreforms the 9800xt in most every test. And as we know the 9800xt outpreforms the 9600xt...

Deus Ex 2, bleh. I was a die hard fan of the original, but Invisible War was dumbed down way too much for my liking. Story was bland, environments were uninspired and simplistic. Bleh http://forums.massassi.net/html/tongue.gif
And geeze, 200-300$ and the best you can suggest is a 9600XT? For that you can get a 9800 Pro. They beat the 9600XT's, and are insanely cheap right now, a great buy.

Of course it does, they're not even in the same class.
If you've got the money, you might as well go for one of the 6800's. You'll be ready for DX9.0c. Personally, I went and got myself the Radeon 9600XT not too long ago and have been very happy with it. It cost me less than half the price of the newest cards and I can play anything at amazing detail for the moment. Doom 3 will change that, but it'll still play, so what's to complain about? http://forums.massassi.net/html/tongue.gif

I also suggest the 6800. It's in your price range, and would be foolish to get a 9600 when it's so inferior.
Word of advice: Don't listen to fanboys of ANY company, be it ATI, nVidia, Intel, AMD, try to find people that aren't blind.

But what if they're fanboys of a company because that company produces superior products? I'm just messing with you, though. I know exactly what you mean.

....fanboys of any tech company just weird me out. Unless it's Apple. Then it's just cool.
Ya, I think I'll go for the 6800 once I get some cashage.
