View Full Version : Does the iBook (or Mac comps) come with a compiler?

I have an iBook where I want to do some coding. But I can't seem to work/find the g++ compiler. In comp. class, I programmed with C++ on Mac desktops (against my wishes) and used g++ to make it an .exe file. I thought I remembered some fact that Macs come with that compiler in them. Is it true?

If not, I guess I could find a compiler online for my iBook.

GCC would be your best bet. I'm assuming that you are running MacOSX?

If you are running OS X, then gcc/g++ can be installed. You'll have to get the BSD-based one. IIRC, when I used the macs @ school, I was able to just type in gcc/g++. It might come preinstalled.

Ya. It seems preinstalled.
