I have an ASUS A7A somethingor other (can't remmber the exact model) And a radeon 8500LE 128MB.

Now, the Radeon works fine in PCI mode. But AGP won't turn on http://forums.massassi.net/html/frown.gif

Yes, I have the latest catalyst drivers. And I'm on service pack 1 now.

I'm afraid I might have to flash my bios... I'm scared... Advice?

Anyone willing to guide me through BIOS flashing over the phone? http://forums.massassi.net/html/tongue.gif

Are you sure it's an AGP CARD? I believe there was a PCI version of the 8500.

Try enabling AGP with Smartgart. If that doesn't work, try a different set of driver, like Omega's. If you use Omega's drivers, there is an enhanced version of Smartgart that you can play around with as well.

Also, make sure you have your chipset drivers and whatnot updated as well.

How could it run on both? It is either just PCI or AGP...

Maybe it doesn't work because he jammed it into a PCI slot?

Okay, Just to let you guys know:

I'm not an idiot. http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif

IT /IS/ THE AGP VERSION.

Its plugged into the AGP port, DirectX /SAYS/ its the AGP version.

So yeah. And what do you mean "update the chipset driver" ? I'm already on the latest Catalyst drivers. Maybe I'll give the Omega drivers a try.

[EDIT: By the way, its running in PCI mode which is basically a video card safemode. I have a feeling I'm going to have to flash my BIOS or something. http://forums.massassi.net/html/frown.gif ]
