I was wondering if there was a cog that could make shadows. If there is could someone tell me?

No, there is no shadows cog. You see, shadows must be done with lighting in the level itself..

and if you mean shadows from things, it would be nearly impossible to do for a moving object like a player.

Shadows, too complicated, changes the size and direction from multiple lights all the time. A simple one is not so hard maybe.

A flat translucent black shadow 3do gets attached to a player all the time. To say more, from a single light source(like sun), calculate the vector of the player from the sun and can rotate(maybe re-set position) the shadow a little bit.
