I am a total newb when it comes to cogs and weapons. I don't even know how to use a cog in a weapon but I just reasntly got a good Idea its for a lord of the rings weapon pack and the first weapon I'm going to make is sting the sword. and I'm going to make it glow blue whens someone is near by. the olny bad part about this is as I said before i couldn't cog if my life depended on it an the cog I am going to need would be hard even if i did know about cogging
so please if you know how to cog and would like to make a cog and explain to me how to use it on a weapon modle reply to this post
thanx

You could use a multi-celled mat on the blade, then get the distance to other players in a pulse message, and if distance < bla, SetMaterialCel(forgot about the parameters, sorry). Doesn't seem to be too hard...

I also Have an Idea for how the ring should work . the ring could be a weapon and when U use it a hand would stick out with a ring on it . the edges of the screen could go blurry and it could randomly turn off at times maby even drain your health.
oh and Lord_Grismath,
sweet sting modle (how do you spell modle anyway) try useing my idea and make it glow blue.
and I wouldjoin you and work with JO but I am a even bigger newb in JO. maby in a couple of weeks when i've had more time to get used to it.

What you describe would be a bit much for someone to do for you, but it is by no means impossible. I would recommend that you use the saber cog as a base for you sword as most editors do. Then you can modify the saber cog instead of creating a new cog. When you have that set up, do what Zagibu suggested to make the sword turn blue.
But of course, you'll have to learn cog to do this. The DataMaster (advertised in my signature) contains some basic tutorials. If you need help along the way for something more specific, post again. http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif
BTW, Grismath, no TC has ever been completed. http://forums.massassi.net/html/frown.gif I hope you have the dedication to finish yours. http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif
