i`ve been trying to convert a weapon cog to jedi knight from mots, and i can`t quite figure out whats wrong. i think the template section is pointing to a file that is non-existant in JK. I`m not sure why i`m having so much trouble since i was able to convert another weapon cog from JK to MotS without any problems. all help is greatly appreciated!

Well, step #1 would be to post the cog...

you seem to be saying your trying to take a MOTS cog to JK, and before you took a JK cog to MOTS..
if you are takeign a MOTS cog to JK, forget it. evan if you could get all the advaced code out, then you gotta get around the fact that your not ment to do it.. and massassi wouldent psot it if you did..
you see MOTS surports JK cogs, as its jsut JK + some more commands and stuff.
but JK wont take a MOTS cog as it dosent have the commands
if thats not what you ment shoot me

Another post......
another moment of my life wasted.....
at least i made a level.
PJB's JK page's (http://www.geocities.com/SF_PJB1)
-the PJB jedi rule book-
rule one, "never trust a bartender with bad grammar"-kyle katarn in JO
Rule Two, "Gravity is a crule misstress" -kyle katarn in MotS, and the alternatior MK I in AJTD
One of the LEC weapon cogs? Thats a no-no. You cannot take material from Mots and put it in JK.
And beyond that, its not possible. Theres too many verbs in Mots that JK lacks, stuff thats impossible in JK (*cough*FindSectorAtPos*cough*). You can go JK=>Mots but not JK<=Mots. Capich?

myhym. there are 2 reasions. First one is that cog uses bin's (that are difrent for JK and Mots), or cog uses mots verbs (like playeraction)

You probably mispelled an important verb. http://forums.massassi.net/html/rolleyes.gif

Like GBK said, It's Illegal. It says so in the JK/MotS license agreemants and in the Massassi Submission instructions:
<font face="Verdana, Arial" size="2">Quoted from the Massassi Temple Submission Instructions:
We will not post a level for JK that has MotS components in it. If we do post a level, under the impression that everything is fine, and later find out that it is not, we will take down the level, and no further levels from that author will be posted. Please, do NOT violate copyright laws by including MotS components in Jedi Knight.</font>
I THINK I read somewhere else on Massassi that JK stuff in MotS was ok, since you HAD to own JK to legally own MotS. Please check with someone else to confirm this.

I`ve noticed people are pretty jumpy about telling someone off on these forums. first off, I don`t plan on using any of the default weapons from MotS in JK. and also I am NOT making a mod to submit to any website. Just for personal use, and possibly to show me some stuff so i can make my own COMPLETELY original mod. Thanks though for the info
Well, you didnt say anything about the cogs being original. Post them, we'll see what we can do.

Yeah, lay off the guy - if he edits the cogs from MotS to get them to work for JK, they're not MotS cogs anymore.

i was trying to use the ion cannon mod from MotS on JK, but since i see it`s possible, i won`t worry about it and just try to make the mod for MotS. thanks though, and sorry i wasn`t more clear

I apologize if I was a bit jumpy on the legal stuff.
Hey, I've been there before, too, sort of. I wanted to convert the JK Goldeneye mod to MotS for my personal use, but also because I wanted to make those darn throwing knives!!! I don't know why. Never got around to it, though.
Anyway, yeah, many of the values for MotS cogs (I'm talking mostly bin #'s) are different from JK. You'll just have to see what the corresponding JK bin number is, if you're still considering doing it for JK, that is.
