What should I buy with my christmas money?

Well, I actually have something in mind. See, I have no interest in the PS3, but there are a number of PS2 (and PS1 for that matter) games that I am interested in owning. I've heard that the original model is better than their new, slimmer variety, but is it worth getting a used or even "refurbished" older model over a new, thin one?

Also, feel free to suggest what I should use the money for (no suggestions for a Wii, as I'm getting that from someone else once I can find one.) I have a lot of Christmas money (approx. ~$300) that I have yet to spend, so suggestions are welcomed.

Hmm my bro 'n' I got a PS2 for xmas, mostly for him to use since I'll be away @ school... I can't reccomend the thin or thick especially (we have thin) but I think a PS2 in general is sure worth getting, if only for guitar hero.

There are obviously a bunch of classic games for it, which are mostly pretty cheap now.

I'm looking forward to playing some Final Fantasy, Metal Gear Solid, CTR, whatever.

we've got a thin one, and i've had no problems with it whatsoever. the only problem i've heard about the thin ones was that the early models had an overheating issue that was fixed in later models. if you buy one with a stand, and keep it upright, should be no problem.

and geb, whats goin on man; the biggest nintendo fanboy i know going sony? its heart attack inducing!

Open a savings account.

Just because you received money doesn't mean you have to spend it right away.

I agree on saving the money.

The urge to spend can lead to poor decisions.

You should buy a version of the NES that isn't written in script format.
