Would the GHOST thing TPL be my camera? In other words, would my camera be the Template GHOST?

yes..but i think you can assign any template to be the "ghost" or thing acting as teh camera

Any 'thing' can act as a camera, if you don't want the player to see any visible camera, then yes, use the ghost thing.

Anything can be a camera but most people use ghosts because you can't see them.
