I've been thinking. If you've ever played Q3 and seen those surfaces that seem shiny or have a glare depending on the players view's orientation, to it, it's a similar effect to what I'm aiming for here. Obviously, no one is going to be able to create as complex a system as Q3's, but I was thinking more in terms of this: Perhaps it would be possible to create a cog that scrolls a surface depending on the players orientation to a certain surface? As in, if the player turns right while having the specified surface in view, then the surface would scroll left. My reasoning with this is that I could have a certain metallic or glarish texture layed oever another one on an adjoin, so it would actually look like sort of a glare or something.
Anyway, does anyone out ther think this is possible, or that I'm just crazy?
