Rising water cog?

is there one anywhere? is there any way to do it besides making one adjoin have a water mat, then the next up, then the next and flagging their sectors as water?

That seems to be the only way it can be done. Have a look at the LEC single player level - the one with the rising water is also done just as you described.

I thought it used a flat 3do textured to look like water, and then flagged the sectors as water.

oh, what the heck , I'll tell you what I'm actually working on and maybe it can help in your case. I've been trying to figure out that exact same thing and it occured to me that you might be able to use a 3do. What I did was made a large room as a 3do and gave it an elevator template then placed it above water. if it moves fast enough, the "elevator doesn't disappear as it moves between the non-water and water sectors. the only thing is that you need a really tall door with no horizontal stripes so that as the room goes in the water, the door doesn't appear to be moving and the player has the illusion of the room being filled with water. you just need a cog to shut the door(s) and then plunge the "room down into it. I'll send you the test level I have if you want. it doesn't have to doors yet but the room does "fill with water". Now, if that's any help to you, maybe you can tell me how to put a med droid into my new MotS level.... I wouldn't mind credit for the idea either...since it took a little bit to figure it out [http://216.105.160.32/html/smile.gif] I hope that helps anyway.

i was thinking of making a room with a spring that randomly fills it up with water and then drains after a couple seconds. I'm going to try to write the cog myself, but im not that great at cogging.

In the Massassi Temple Level Pack No. 2, Nebula made a level called, "The Deep", or at least I think it was......or something of the sort. It had a rising water cog, but it was controlled by a switch. Maybe if you asked him, he could help ya out.....
