Checksum error

I have, or rather had, a lot of mods in JKPatch, none were active, I was not cheating, as far as I know, there wasn't anything wrong different with my game. But I kept getting checksum errors whenever I tried to join a game on the Zone.

I moved all the stuff to another drive, reloaded JK, but didn't move the stuff back, and it worked fine. Is there any other possible explaination except that I have a mod active somewhere?

1. You had stuff in your Jedi Knight/Resource directory that shouldn't have been there (other than the humongous .gob file).

2. The people in the game were using a patch, or the same hacks, or something to that effect.

Hmm... other than the Res1.gob and Res2.gob files, there was nothing in my resource directory. And no one else had problems joining the game, so it wasn't the host.

If Patch commander has the "use patchs on the zone" setting enanbled and you have a patch active, even if patch commander is not running, that patch is used.

I had this very same problem. I would keep on getting checksums and i didn't have anything going. I played aroud with it couldn't figure it out so i just reloaded jk. I even tested it in modem play, zone, ip and i got the checksum in each.

Okay, make sure there is nothing in the Jedi Knight\JKPatch\active folder. If you have "Use patches on Internet Gaming Zone" checked, and there is somthing in the active folder, it will use it, even if you see nothing in Patch Commander. The reason for this is that Patch Commander sets the path that the Zone launches JK from via the registry. So if there is something in the active folder, it will use it if that is checked.
