Cog length and Key speed
2001-02-10, 12:49 PM #1
is there a limit to the length of a cog? because i am editing weap_saber.cog, but for some reason i get to a point where i can't add anymore.

also, is there a way to set the speed of a Key? the reason my code is so long is because I am using two Keys for each attack (one is slower than the other), but if i could change the speed within the cog then it would save a lot of room.

I don't think you can change a key speed in a cog. The speed information is contained in the key file and can't be changed. Also, I think the size of cogs is limited to 12k.

I haven't found a limit to the actual size of the cogs themselves, but the symbols section does have a limit. Not too sure exactly what size though.

I'm with Raynar, I've never encountered a restriction on cog length.

When I was working on the TPMTC trailer though, the engine would stop reading my symbols up to a point. So there is a limit on symbols.

So to bypass that I had the one cog switch to another.

Hi, I've been editing for a while now, but I had to take a long break on account of comp problems.

I have never had a limit on the size of the cog, but there is a limit on what you can open with notepad. If you are using notepad, try opening it with wordpad.

hope that helps [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif]
