Finding the Vector for 00_sectorthrust.cog

How do you find the Vector for a surface(s) that you want to use in 00_sectorthrust.cog? I know there is a way so please excuse my stupidity here [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif] I am a newbie at this (compared to some of you who have been doing this for like 5 years). HELP!!!

there's a tutorial here on how to find it easily, but the quickest way is to place two ghosts a little apart in the direction, so that two of the coordinates are the same (x+y, x+z, y+z), and the last is different. subtract them and find the final vector (the others should be 0)

For my thoughts, I'd just like to say that whilst it's important to remember there are 3 dimensions in Jedi Knight (one of the things that is mentioned by most articles giving thoughts on how to make a good level) it's also good to not let us pursue those 3 dimensions to the end of the Earth. Clear? I thought not.
Yeah, sure, you can get a sector thrust that shunts you x-wards, or y-wards, or z-wards, but what about one that shunts you in the (1,0,1) direction - up and across? Obviously there are many many many times where just travelling in one dimension is desirable, and most appropriate, but let's not forget that you can get away from grid-like structures in your level.
Just some thoughts...flame me if you wish. *Thinks about that* Actually, don't flame. Even if you do want to. Come back with some reasoned arguments instead. :P

Yes, travelling diagonally is good once in a while. The tutorial explains how to do the math to figure out the vectors when you're moving along more than one axis. It's more complicated than saying (1,0,1) if you want the speed setting to have the same rate as a simple vector.

Just use the vec-calc plugin. No math needed!

Yes, I have heard of vec-calc many a time but I cant find it. Everyone says DarkJedi.com, but that has been turned into StarWars.com. Where might I download it?
