Editing Force

Ok, I'm working on a MOD, and right now all that I'm stuck on is how in the world do you edit the Range of a force power like grip or lightning, and also how do you intensify the effects, like making lighting hurt more, grip last longer, push push further, etc.. I've edited some weapons, so I know a little bit about cogging, I just need to know what numbers to change! thx!

This may come as a shock, but not everyone spends every waking moment of their lives on these forums (I do, but that's beside the point). People post on here because they like to, not because they are obligated. If they do not feel the need to reply, they will not, and that is no sin.

No has has replied because your question is just too vague. If you can be more specific with what you are having trouble with someone will more than likely help.

It just sounds too much like you want someone else to do all the hard work for your mod. All the info you are looking for can be found in the JK Specs, the Force power cogs and the 'master.tpl' template file.

Y'know, actually I understand yer point exactly, I know that in that previous message I sounded sarcastic (well it was) and maybe a little ticked, but to tell you the truth I just wrote that so that this topic would get bumped to the top of the forum fer a second chance..
And then to the next guy (I forgot all yer names.. heh) To vague? I am vague because number one- I don't want to sit here and list ALL the things in each force power I want to edit, and number two- I'm not really sure yet what exactly I want to edit, I was just going to play around with it some and see what I can do, then decide what I should change fer the MOD... thnks

PS.. You think I'm getting someone else to do all the work fer me?! Man, I am making new levels, new weapons, new skins, heck I'm thinking of just completely redesigning the player models, all this by myself, and I ask fer a little help with the cogs and so that makes me lazy?! Gee, the nerve of some people..

As I mentioned, all you need to do is to open the force power cogs, examine them, and refer to the JK Specs if you come across a verb you're not familiar with. Other options are found in the 'master.tpl' file, use the Templates tutorial here for further info.

It's all there for you. If you want to put the effort into doing the work, that is.

actually I've been doing that, I'm really lost, thats why I came to the forum... dang you people, why do I scroll through all these other threads where I see people asking "I need a cog that does this can you make one for me?" and they get it, and all I ask is what number to I change to make the range greater and the power stronger and all I get is "figure it out yerself!" bah, discusting...

force power damage is in the templates, I believe; the force powers like lightning are made by fireprojectile - changing parameters in that line of code will affect it (?)

haven't looked at the force powers closely, for a while at least; when JKM is over with (in several months) I'll be writing up 'learn cog in 24 hours' that will focus on force powers for at least a chapter, and explain them in detail.

most of the stuff u are talking about is templates in the static.jkl read gunny's tutorial about templates, rather useful for beginners

No, I promise you it ain't in a template 'cause I had a friend that used to have this hack for god chainlightning an' you could target people from the other side of the level and through walls... I know this for a fact cause' he gave it to me and we had some fun battles with it, but I deleted it 'cause I'm not really a hacker.. and 'cause it was a hack, obviously it was just a cog..
