JKedit Cog help

Hey guys...for those of you who have been through the amateur stage of editing you know what i'm goin through. Basically...i want to know how to get the cogs to work in jkedit
2001-06-10, 5:01 PM #2
ahh, easy peasy! select lvel, then cogs in levl, then click add, and select from the cog list

Btw: glad to know theres another Jkedit user ou here with me! [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif]
The Situation:
The Sv_SetBrushModel: Null error has occurred in my map. This means that somewhere in my level, there is a paper-thin prush that needs to be deleted. There are 2888 brushes in my level. That's chances of 1/2888 of finding the correct brush. The statistics say I have a .035% chance of finding it.
Did I find it?
You bet I did.

I'm sorry to tell you this but the cold hard truth is that it's not better and you will never become as good as any Jed user if your using jkedit. Don't waste your money buying the full version and switch over to Jed now.

You know why you could only do half of drazen? Because jkedit can't do much of what Jed can. That's why. You can do just about anything in jkedit because jkedit can't do much.

To quote from you clan page, "refering to jkedit"

This is the program we use to make our levels. It's not JED. Seems as if JED is too simple for us nerds. We must use the more complex and sophisticated editing form... JkEdit.
</font>

LOL. That's so funny i'm not even going to comment on that.

And another thing, I'm not paying 30 or 40 bucks to buy a crappy editor when I can get a far far superior editor for free.

No, its because i dont understand some parts of it, or they would be unnessicary, OR because they would be too time consuming. god, you people...havent you even TRIED using it for more than a single DAY??? jeez, ill never undersatnd you people....ive tried jed, ya, its nice, you can zoom in....but how the heck do you zoom out??

You don't know how to zoom out? I believe the appropriate question is "Have you ever tried JED for more than a single day?"
2001-06-12, 2:29 PM #11
Oh my gosh... to zoom in you hit the + key. Doesn't common sense tell you zoom out would be the - key?

"Extreme Sarcasm"
Yeah, how dare Jed try and have features that are too time consuming in it. That could lead to people making kick *** levels!! Oh no!!

And those features that you consider, "unnessicary", Those are the little things that make levels all the more great.

While I personally feel more comfortable working in Jed, everyone is entitled to work with whatever they want to. As the saying goes, "Different strokes for different folks."

I haven't worked with JKEdit for a long time, so I really can't comment. I didn't produce much for it back then, but then again, it took me a while to learn Jed, too (2 weeks to figure out the beam tutorial.. I finally found the shift+2 and shift+3 macros).

If you're interested, there was a topic on the Editing Forum a little while back entitled some like "Jed or JKEdit?", or something similar. Zuljin offered an interesting review of JKEdit and a comparison to Jed. As it is, I think this is getting a little off-topic, since it's on the COG forum [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

As to chas3687, I hope SuperNerd_IJ's advice helped - I have no experience using cogs in JKEdit, so I can't help you there.
