Ok. I know nothing about cogs. With that said, shouldnt be too hard to help me. I have about 8 or 9 different doors I want locked and can only be open by a person with the corresponding key/item. I know there's plenty of different items you can use for keys, such as color keys, big key, wrenches, that sort of stuff. The question is, since I know nothing about cogs, which cog is it (it is already in JED right?) But which cog is it and is it simple enough to understand or how would I set up 9 different doors with different keys and such?

Ok, I found 00_doorkey.cog, but it only lets me use the different colored keys (3). How would I be able to use other pickup-able items and use them as a key? I'm pretty sure I've seen it done before.

um... I can't think of the cogs right away, but all you need to do is open up the JK lvls with those cogs and you got the name! If you think thats too much work, you could just go through the cogs till you find it. Not like that would be easier...

If I remember the names, I'll tell ya. And on your sig, what is that poem thing from? It sounds familiar...

Ok, now can anyone help me? lol. I guess I can try and look at the drazen isle cogs, cuz it uses items for the treasures, but I know nothing about COG language, so I'm screwed without some help, so please?

Colonel, good idea, a Christian thread!

JFA_Matrix, I found the cog! It's 03_doorkey.cog. It currently only lets you use the red key, but I could change it to work with any of the keys or wrenches if you want.

And both of you, if you're looking for a good (and yet disapointing) read, head to the General Discussion Forum and check out the thread on abortion. It's getting pretty stupid, but there were some good posts I thought.

Um, yeh, could you edit that for me? I need like 8 different locked doors, so keys, wrenches, and that funky imperial key, and whatever else there is left (maybe like night vision gogles could be used as a key instead). Just get back to me...

It doesn't require a lot of work. Gimme the list of keys you want ta use, and I'll make the changes and... shoot, how am I gonna get these cogs to you? e-mail?

I need 8 keys total. (make sure they work like keys for the doors, cuz I dont want some wrench needing a hole to turn)

In the template names:
1. keyblue
2. keygreen
3. keyred
4. keyyellow
5. controlroomkey
6. bluewrenchkey
7. yellowwrenchkey
8. wrench

If you could find a way to make cog(s) for these keys, that would be greatly apreicated. You'd be in the credits, yada yada.

Will this be a cog for each, or would this be one massive cog where I just input a number on the Cog Editor in JED and it uses that key? Oh well, e-mail is:

I was going to use the lvl 3 red key cog as a base and modify it for each. If you want I could tell you how to change it... it doesn't take a lot of work but you have to check a bunch of stuff for numbers. The finished product would be a cinch to use. Just make sure you have the right cog, then assign a door to it and a few flexes for stuff like how long the doors open, and thats it. Cogs are so much fun...

I'll get started anyway. I might need the cogs myself. And about that credits thing, if I get credit for anything, it's just modding the cog, please? It's not like I wrote it or anything...

Um, so ya know, I kinda wanted the doors to be swinging doors, like used in this one cog that I have... um, will I still be able to make them swinging or what? (I dunno) *shrug*
