Here are some cogs i need help with for MotS:
- While the BlasTech is charging, show a template floating in front of the player, and making the light around the player increase until you shoot.
- Set the point-of-view to a weapon bolt when it's shot.
- An inventory item that, when activated, beeps in reference to your nearness to the item.

Hey there, sorry I can't help you with cogs, I just wanted to say if you're still making that dbz mod, I accidentally deleted that kamehameha animation I was going to send you, but I'm making a new one, and I'll send it to you when it's done.

Well, i don't actually need it anymore. Thanks for the offer, though! Sorry about all the complications with it; Actually, I started all over at point. These cogs are for the mod, though. The first is for a chargeable blast, the second is kinda filler actually, and the third is for a dragon radar. If you know of anyone who can help with the cogs, though, tell him about this. Thanks!

Yeah, i just need help with them. I was kinda looking into whether you had to modify some templates in static.jkl, or if you could do it all through cogs. If just cogs, what commands and stuff would i use? Thanks alot!

The first two cogs you want will have to be an edited version of the blastech's cog.
-To make a template floating in front of the player just add a CreateThing(floatingtemplate,PlayerPosWitOffset); or something to that effect. To make the light increase, you would probably have to use a dynamic light thing (I think there's a tutorial on them in the tutorials section)
-To change the POV to the blaster bolt, just add a few lines into the cog in the part where it fires that SetCurrentCamera(bolt);
and be sure to make a section that puts the camera back.
-in the item cog, use the VectorDist(); verb to find the distance. Use this in conjunction with the ChangeSoundPitch(); verb
to modify the pitch of the sound based on the distance.

If you want any more specifics, then you might try asking someone who really knows how to cog.(not me, at least not very well)

Thanks alot! I kinda had the idea that that would be it, but i wanted to make sure. I'm mostly a beginner too, just a few things in cog that gripe me (vectors, lighting, and template creation to name a few). If i need any more help i'll check back here. Thanks again!

Yeah, he got it right enough! Actually, you have to use CreateThing and AttachThing so that the charge moves with you, but everything's got the right gist to it. Thanks!

I wouldn't bother. No offense, but I doubt your mod would stand up to DBZ 4.0. I wouldn't waste your time. Really.

I'm not trying to compete with DBZ 4.0 (or DBZ:The Destruction Is Real, to be exact) or any other mod. It's more of a personal thing, and plus, as C_T mentioned, it is for MotS. I'm really using this project as a well-rounded kind of practice thing. It may not ever even be finished, but as long as TDIR comes out soon, i'm fine with it.
