Weird observations

Recently, some kind of weird phenomenen happens in some games I play in.. Everything works fine, but then all out of sudden, a player becomes invisible. When he dies, he's visible again of course, but his weapons are invisible and he doesn't produce a backpack when he dies anymore... This happened to me 3-4 times, and I have no explanation.. I figure it must be some kind of hack but I don't see how this would be possible in a cog, I mean, there is no sense in doing it, it's just weird and annoying, and it happened with different players...
Any ideas what this could be?

yes it would be possible. There`s a flag for invisibility on 3dos.

But the backpack problem? It's not invisible, it just isnt created...
