Creating Sprites on explosion

Hola-

I know, dumb question for someone that's been around awhile, but hey, I don't have any of my 'skillz' anymore.

Here's the situation. I have a new idea for smoke grenades... It's similar to the style of smoke you see in Goldeneye or Perfect Dark. I hunted down 3 different smoke textures to use. What I need to do is create about 8-10 large smoke sprites when the grenade explodes. I'm sure this might be able to be done in static.jkl, but I'm not sure if it would go over the net, especially since it seems any weapon templates added to static.jkl never work over a network. Would cog be best? Or does anyone know the secret to getting weapon templates to work in static.jkl?

You're the man, Hideki.

I surfed your site and found some great tutorials! I might steal some stuff if that's okay. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif] That Client/Server gun setup you linked to---can I put all of my new weapon projectiles on it? I would assume so, but you can never be too sure!

I also got the Jawa Tag code to work, but I couldn't find a way to get a custom pup file to work. I'd like to use a Jawa that's to scale, and not some giant, Kyle-sized wannabe. I would assume I could send a trigger and then use ParseArg(), but that would leave the player stuck as the Jawa permenantly if I remember...any ideas?

I know I just said this, but I really wish there was a way to hack multiple .pup files via cog. The only other thing I can think of is make the Jawa in some vehicle and hack it so that the wrists of the jawa are actually a normal model's forearms, etc. Then I could animate it.

I have a nice easy solution for you - and it ONLY involves the editing of the Jawa 3do. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

Set the 3do's INSERT OFFSET to 0 0 0

Make the Jawa's legs transparent (use transparent black mats) from the knees down.

The Jawas knees will be a floor level.

Sure, the leg animations are a bit funny (as the legs are really only the thighs), but it's a very simple solution to a very frustrating problem. With clever manipulation of the leg meshes, you'd hardly know something was slightly odd about the way the Jawa moves...

Thanks to DarkUnderworld who confirmed that my idea of simply "sinking" a MP skin could be done (in this thread http://forums.massassi.net/html/Forum2/HTML/008322.html )
