How would you make actors in Jedi Knight (Stormtroopers, etc.) fight along side you?

What I'm trying to do is have a bunch of stormtroopers fight on my side, like the rebels do in MoTS

Yes, I've tried that, but most of the time they just attack me; and when I try to do multiple friendlies using that method they ALWAYS attack me.

I need some help on cog(s) that will controll an army of friendlies, and will never fail.
