C plus plus.

..And you dont need to know C++ to cog. I dont know it, and I was nominated as one of the top 5 coggers at Massassi. (Although that might not be completely true...)

Cool. I know the basic stuff like what ! means (not) and how to change the cost of a force power, but i was thinking of the more complex stuff later on.

The best advice I could give you is, to just start writing cogs. From scratch. Start simple, text output and the like. As you get more experianced, your cogs will grow in complexity and function.

Indeed I was also nomiated one of the best coggers *coughs* , and I don't know a single thing about C++, Never seen it or a verb from it.

So, Seifer, by whom were you nominated one of the best coggers?

In order to be named "one of the best coggers", wouldn't you have to actually prove that your code does indeed exist?

The Coggers of Massassi Forums

I have proven it exists.

I don't know C++ either. In fact I only learned perl as the only popular language in the world and I learnt cog as the first language.

Advice : See how the original cogs are written, and you can edit cogs (like weapon cogs to make your own nice weapons) and then start writing your own.

That's probably how most of the "top nominated coggers" made the way.

What? HeckRazor? Haven't we already got one of those? It almost seems like this thread is a joke or something. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/confused.gif]

No, you don't have to know C++ or C to write Cogscripts. But even so, the average C++ (or even Turbo Pascal) book is better than the best Cog syntax tutorial that's been written.

Seifer, as soon as you release these amazing cogs of yours, I'll believe you. To date, the only cogs of yours that I've seen were part of a small, buggy, pilotable missile patch. I know you said you majorly updated that patch, but I've yet to see it....
