ForumsCog Forum → regional damage....
regional damage....

So I've read the tutorial about it and tried to get it to work... but it doesn't work... I guess the problem is that Jk doesn't know that it should run that cog or something... I've put it in the cog folder.. But I guess I have to do something more... Does anyone know what to do?

If I remember correctly, that cog is an actor cog. SO, in JED, load the 'Quick and dirty template creator', and load the template for the iCommando. (Make sure that cog is in your proj dir) Click on the 'Cog' button, and find the regional damage cog in the 'Project dir' listing. Save the template as somehting else, like 'my_icommando' or the like. Then, add the new template into the level. Bingo, regional damage enemies.

OR, do it the easy way. Create a new directory under your JK resource folder. Call it 'Cog'. Place the regional damage cog in there. Rename it to 'actor_ic.cog'. It will then apply regional damage to all instances of the 'Imperial commando' in ANY level.

thanks, but that would make regional damage for just Imperial Commando wouldn't it? I should've said that I meant for other players(in multiplayer)... so what should I do for that?

That would require modification of 'Kyle.cog'. You would need to port over the damage code from the ic actor cog.

To make a cog run by default, put it in items.dat.
