Zoom Scopes

Any idea where i can find a fairly good zoom scope for my weapons mod? It does'nt have to be the ultimate scope, I know its impossible in JK, but just one that does'nt crash, even if its crap. It has to be controlable with only one key/fire mode though. I'd be happy if anyones got some tips on 'em.

Yeah, But the Zoom Tutorials Version crashes
when you push the zoom key quickly, to zoom back in.. Whats with that?

Hideki, Since the Bryar Scope Tutorial has this odd bug in it where it crashes when you zoom back in fast, Mind if i use the one in the Sniper Arena Pack? Ive played it a bunch, and i've never run into that bug. I'll leave the 'Targeting Ring' out and stuff, i just want the Zoom feature.

No problem using it from Sniper Arena. Although it's funny that I only took the code from the Sniper Arena and cut down the surplus codes to make it simple to create that tutorial...

I don't think I'm good enough to solve that bug now...sorry.

Okay, I finished creating the Scope, and Oddly enough, by using the one from Hideki's Sniper Arena MOD, It never crashes when you tap the zoom key to break out of the scope.

I wonder if that has something to do with the fact that the Sniper Arena one is a Item, and the Tutorial is mounted on a gun... Hmmm...

The only problem is that i split the Scope into two seperate keys for my MOD, One for Zoom IN and one for Zoom OUT. I just wanted them to be hotkeys, but they wont recieve deactivated messages unless i set them to show in the item list. Is there any way around that?

The messages gets captured by what type is set to in the items.dat I believe. And most of them don't get the deactivated except for forces and weapons.

Making the hotkey an item is an easy way to get deactivated: to run.

You could try making the key a weapon. The autoselect message would return -1 so it wouldn't be selected.
