Sound questions

The JKSpecs says that 0x10000 makes the sound a voice that cannot be overridden. I played half a dozen sounds and then played a sound with this flag. That flagged sound was almost completely drowned out. Am I missing something?

What do the channel settings in the sound options window do? Limit the speakers to playing so many sounds? I set the channels to 8 and tried playing more than eight sounds. I'm pretty sure I could hear the last one playing. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/confused.gif]

No answers? [http://forums.massassi.net/html/frown.gif]

BTW, I was testing SetMusicVol(), and I found that it does not work on some systems.

01_soundtrack is supposed to start the music playing and sets its vol to zero so you don't hear it until you exit the cantina. On my AMD 900, the music blared out at startup, but on my other computer, the music did not play until I exited the bar. Any ideas on that?

Ive noticed that too. When I still ran an old 200Mhz/Soundblaster clone, it would do that to me. So, I just turned the music off. Havent tried it on my new system, although it might have something to do with the 'Channel settings' in the sound options.

I cant really say, Ive never used that flag. It might be that it doesnt work, that the CA was mistaken.
