Another section's questions. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

1) While I was testing surface normals and positions, I created an object outside all sectors. But, I saw it in front of the horizon. So I guess that JK puts the horizon as far out as it's told instead of just scaling the mat. Here's the link to the screenshot. I don't plan to test that further so I'm not certain - but it's noteworthy none the less.

2) Is there any reason that JK should treat dflt.mat differently from other mat files? I ask because GetSurfaceMat() returns an odd negative number when it retrieves the dflt mat from a surface.

3) Anyone ever tested SurfaceLightAnim()? It seems that LEC meant for the animation to repeat and create a continuous light effect, but it is only plays a one-time fade effect for me. (I do not want an answer quoted from the JKSpecs)

Thanks in advance. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif]

2) Maybe the default texture is treated as a missing mat so it comes up as -1... who knows.

With no.1 a archi/objects seem to come through a skybox... maybe it does push the horizon out. In jed you can set the "Ceiling sky height". By defualt its set to 15. And I'm guessing you've flagged that surface the same as a sky roof?

GetSurfaceMat() returns a number like -14000 when it's told to retrieve dflt. -Not the standard -1 for failure or null.

Don't know what you mean by "sky roof", but I had that surface flagged as Horizon (0x200).

Thanks for the reply. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif]
