The question of a newbie realating to the player in cogs...

Ok, my question is very simple, if a little stupid. Why is the player classed as a thing in some cogs and an int in others. I'm aware of the difference, but what is the reason for classing the player as an int, and what circumstances is this good for? I will accept insults to my intelligence as long as you answer the question.

I am a Christian.
I have a guidebook for life.
I have a friend who accepts me as I am.
I have a promise that will last for eternity.
What do you have?
Cynic (sin'ik) n. One of a sect of ancient Greek philosophers who held that virtue is the ultimate goal of life, their doctrine gradually coming to symbolize insolent self-righteousness.

There is no difference. None whatsoever. A thing is an int.

well technically there is a difference but they both work the same way it is a matter of preference i guess, most people define player as a thing though
