My cogs wont run

I'm extremely new to cogging and I can't get my cogs to work... I've tried using Patch Commander to it a .gob and then using PC to run it. I've put my cog files in every directory possible but they wont work, but it's not only mine... even one's I've downloaded wont work. Where are you supposed to place the cog file??

Just having the cog in the right directory won't make it run. You have to list the cog in the items.dat or the static.jkl.

Download the DataMaster from the link in my signature. In its Tutorial section, read "Setting Up" and "Running." The first will explain how to make a directory for each patch project and the latter will explain how to make JK recognize a cog.

Thanks, for the small cog that i was working on the directory was the only problem... But I'm sure I'll need that info later on. Thanks again.
