I dowloaded a whole lod of packs from the miscallaneus dowload section of this site. I will give you an example of what i did for one, a pack of wookies. Ok following the reame file I opened the jed mtl master file or whatever using wordpad. I copied all the cogs given at the bottom of the readme in and then I copied everything in the zip file into a special folder I made within the MoTs directory especially for these files. However they are not available in the cogs or the 3dos what am I doing wrong here.

say you put the 3do's in a folder called:
c:\jk\massassidownloads\3do
(and the cogs in the cog folder)
If you want to use the 3do's, you'll have to make sure that 'massassidownloads' is your project directory.

so open jed, then save as, and save the jed file in (example) c:\jk\massassidownloads.
now load the jed file and you should be able to select the 3do's (and cogs)

If you allready have a project directory, just copy the '3do' and 'cog' folders into your project directory.

I hope that helped

You know when you say project directory what do you actually mean cos I have just made my own. In template creator there is a category called project directory so how do i get my 3dos into that.

When you add new templates, the TPL file goes in your own project directory (folder), this is the folder with your jed file and your mat, 3do, cog, and other folders.

Put 3do mats in a folder called mats that is in the 3do folder. Simple as that. When JED can't find a mat then you'll just get a white surface.

Ok I have partially solved that problemish. I have got the 3dos to turn up, however most of the sound files don't but some do even though they are in the same place. Aaaaaaand When I placed my beautiful grey wookie on my level he twas not there when i went to test it the get. Nor was a custom made reeyeey which i gave the AI of a civilian. So do you have a clue why my custom made actors aren't turning up in the level.

None of my downloaded or self created characters using the template appear in my level when i load it. They are invisible sometimes they are there but invisible and somtimes they are not. Please tell me that it is possible for me to you these characters in my level or I will probably bang my head off the wall.
