DataMaster 0.18

I have released the next version of the DataMaster, version 0.18. It features:

  • Improved browser compatibility
  • Cross-referencing for verbs and messages.
  • A choice of either frames or popup windows to display listed items.
  • As well as many minor improvements.

The new version can be downloaded from the files section of Saber's Domain. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif]

The DataMaster's first release was IMO, well received. However, the input after it's release was poor at best. Only a few provided feedback. I would appreciate it if all who download this reference, would send me an email and tell me what they liked, didn't like, and what they wanted in future versions.

Although I have done a lot to rid the DataMaster of linking errors, typos, and the like, I know there's still a few hiding somewhere. If you find one of these bugs, please report it.

It takes a lot of time to single-handedly create something like the DataMaster. And sadly, I no longer have the time to actively work on it. In fact, I will have to stop editing JK for about a month. I will still update the DataMaster as people email bug reports, but no new features will be added for a while. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/frown.gif]

Also available for download at my website is a new set of Cog files for EditPlus 2.11 that I made just before starting on DataMaster 0.18. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif]

I think the Datamaster is great. I use it instead of JKSpecs. Takes a while to get used to, but its very organized, and has more updated info. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

If I find anything I'll be sure to let you know. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

If you want that post about me updating JKSpecs with all sorts of info in it, I've got it saved. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

Yes, I do too use it as a quality cog reference. However my terrible cog skills render me useless for finding bugs [http://forums.massassi.net/html/frown.gif]

But good work, it is very useful!

the Datamaster is great, we all appreciate your work. I think it can't be improved. Fill the gaps, and that's it.

Glad you all like the DataMaster. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif]

But it certainly can be improved. The major improvements would be:

Flag Research.
Addition of MotS Verbs.
MP testing of some verbs.

Anyone's welcome to help. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif]

This is one of the coolest editing resources ever! The only people who won't benefit from this are those that have memorized cog (and like anybody's done that... right?).

Anyway, Who wants to give SaberMaster a medal?

I'd give him a medal for extraordinary services, but it would only be a rusted copper one. Rusted, as JK is...

If you edit alot, you will probably memorize most verbs.

You can actually kind of know what's possible and what's not beforehand and if latter, you go dig into cog verbs.

But still, that DataMaster really provides self experiences (which is the most useful information that can be provided), a good read to anyone.

You certainly poured a lot of work into it. Great work!

Thanks again SaberMaster, this is great. I vote for adding in verbs and info for MOTS. Also noting differences between SP and MP cog coding would help because there are things you need in one but not the other.
