We've seen that there was a message that LEC or Raven will release an editor and some tools to edit JO.

Is that SDK?
I never edited games except JK so I don't really know what SDK is all about, but does that mean they are going to release all the specs of scripting/etc ones like jkspec?

SDK is code. Doubt it.

There will be info on using ICARUS2, probably similar to the ICARUS documentation released for Elite Force. However, ChangKhan (lead programmer for JO) said that Raven will not be releasing a singleplayer SDK, so anything that ICARUS2 doesn't cover can't be done in SP (ex: new weapon functions, hud, physics, advanced AI).

So, we will be stuck with something as limited as COG? More limited, perhaps?

For sp... yes. For multiplayer it should be cool.

SDK means Software Development Kit. That contains usually all sourcecodes and documentation that are not directly engine related. It is usually ways more powerful than a basic scripting language...

That will let me down.
I read at jkii.net how Icarus was limited, just hope dev people will encourage us in some way.

I went to see what Icarus was all about at some Elite Force editing sites but they all seem to be small sites and files tend to be in binary. (So, these games need to compile mods to run?)

Don't let me down LEC/Raven. Please.
