One way I learn cog is to read all the posts on this forum! Otherwise, I've gone through all the tutorials I can find. I refer to the JKSpecs and now the DataMaster.

I just kept looking through LEC and mod cogs... after a couple of days I got the hang of it and after a bit longer I could cog easily.

I started including cogs to my levels, then took a closer look at some...
and then I decided to go to the international COG university in Alabama...i never got my diploma, though.

I hooked up with Obsidian way back when he and Jediman were doing the JKPaintball mod over at Moldy Crow Productions - basically, I bugged him about stuff (looking through ICQ conversations, I asked the stupidest questions.. "What does GetLocalPlayerThing() do?", etc.). Never really got it, sort of wrote some basic cogs (elevator, a weapons reload cog that I never used). One day it sort of 'clicked', and I understood pretty much everything. Unfortunately, I never did anything with my knowledge, and now I'm moving onto JO. Ah well..

Edit: Pele's enormous cog tutorial was also a major, major help..

I learned cog the hard way. Trial and error. Mostly error. Years of cogging for all of my unreleased SP levels taught me everything I know.

BTW, Pele's enormous cog tutorial was also a major, major help.. :P

Read lots of cogs, asked a few questions every now and then.

Pele's enormous cog tutorial was also a major, major help.. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

Sadly, I learned too late for it to be useful.
