As some of you already know, I've enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. I posted my formal farewell on the Discussion Forum some time ago, but I have remained with Massassi and the editing community for as long as possible before my departure for basic training at Parris Island, SC.

I will be going to Parris Island next Monday on the fourteenth. But I will leave tomorrow to visit with my family first and to check with my recruiter. While there, I hope to be able to check this thread again before leaving.

Three years with the editing community is far too short a time, it seems. I know half of you twice as much as I should like, and I like less than half of you twice as much as you deserve. But nonetheless, I have enjoyed working on cogscripts with my fellow Massassians. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif]

The chances are about zilch that I'll even see a computer at Parris, so I'll be a fairly unhelpful Moderator then. The Administrators may demoderate me if they want, but I will return at least temporarily in three to six months.

For the occasion, I have updated all of my utilities again. For most of them this is the last time they will be updated save for a bug-fix, but the DataMaster will not RIP until JK does. In this latest update, BTW, I've included a new tutorial on Numerical Bases.

I would appreciate it if all of you who use these utilities would log any errors that you find while I'm away.

I bid you all a very fond farewell. Goodbye. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif]

MEIN GOTT!

SaberMaster, you have been an invaluable help, as your resources have been as well, and an excellent, compitent colleague.

Good luck, and Godspeed.

BTW - 1 question and 1 favor, if you can find the time to do them. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif] Am I one of those people who don't deserve to be liked?

The favor, can you go to my newest showcase thread and post something please, I deticated it to you. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif]

You helped me out when I had time for serious editing a couple of years back. Thanks for that.
Good luck out there!

Why would a brilliant mind like you join the marinecorps?

Of course not, I didn't mean to imply that. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif]

The year before I joined, I had met a lot of Marines (there are two Marine bases in eastern NC). In general, they liked their jobs, had a good work ethic, and had a respect for their service. The military does offer a lot of opportunity - like its free education programs.

There are many high-tech jobs in the Marine Corps, and the better you do on your ASVAB (a military entrance test), the more technical your job will probably be. I did well on that test (99/99), and I'll probably end up with a computer-related job, but nothing's certain.

This will be my last post on the forums. Goodbye to all, and good luck with your own careers. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif]

SaberMaster, how can I create a switch in JK/MOTS based on 3do( not a surface), dont you know? Thanks.
2002-10-13, 8:52 AM #13
And do yo have any experience in cog creating?
2002-10-13, 9:20 AM #14
Uhh, Stark, why the hell did you post the same offtopic question in three separate threads? Thats what the NEW TOPIC button is for, you know... [http://forums.massassi.net/html/rolleyes.gif]

Anyway, to answer your question, simply change the symbol type of your switch in the symbols section of your cog to "thing".
