CogPad's future.

It may be awhile before I release 1.0 of CogPad... Ive recently begun screwing around with MDI forms, and Ive decided to make CogPad an MDI application. Of course, you will have the option of keeping it as a single-file app, but I really do want to make it MDI. If anyone has an idea on why I shouldnt, please speak now.

Ummm, I don't know what a MDI form is, so I couldn't say.

I'm not familiar with that format, but good luck. We could use some good cog tools.

Any comments on the UI so far?

Dont worry about the window title or the fact that it truncates the filenames in the titlebar. Bolth are customizable in the options.

I like it, and I loved the sound of all the features...

but its gotta have a syntax checker. Cogwriter is clumsy, but its the only cog syntax checker I have.

Its looking great! Do you have drag and drop file opening?

If you added a syntax checker then I think it would be a superior cog editor.

Lookin Sweet! Must..... have.....Syntax checking! *di3s*

Do you have any idea on how to go about it? If not I've got a few to sling your way. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif] And in VB too. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/redface.gif] (gogo VB! [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif] )

Yeah, drag & drop works... As it is now, the syntax checker is Parsec. I dont see the point of trying to code a "better" on, when Parsec works so well. If anyone would care to *give* me the code for a syntax checker, then by all means, otherwise . . .

Its to much effort to go over to parsec and run it. It needs to be closer, less effort [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif]

I did... twice. Do I get a prize?

Oh, yeah, you have to specify Parsec's location in the Options first...

It'd be really nice if you made it compatible with MotS cog verbs too. I've tried adding them into Parsec's data.dat, and it gives me "error code 9: not handled" or something like that.

If you don't have built in syntax checking, then I guess syntax highlighting and auto-complete is out of the question? (Ctrl+Space is pretty much the only thing I like about MS Visual Studio)

MDI forms = win. The new interface looks excellent.
