Cog Forum Policy
In regard to a lot of recent threads, I'm posting this policy so that it's clear what's not allowed on this forum. The Cog Forum is very much like a service that Massassi hosts, editors find answers, and editors give answers. It's expected to be a little more serious than the Discussion Forum. Below are a few things that I'm going to talk about specifically because they've been coming up a lot:
Extraneous Comments:
As I said above, this forum is more serious than the others. I don't want to see comments like "my eyes hurt" or "aaaahhhhh" after a long post. It's alright to have a little humor, sarcasm, or what-have-you now and then, but not in almost every one of your posts.
Research Before Posting:
There's no need to post a question on this forum when you could have looked it up in a reference and easily found your answer there. In the past, I've never tried to push the DM and Parsec too much because I wrote them, and I don't like using the forum to do that.
But I'm tired of wasting my time answering questions like these because I won't have time to answer more legitimate questions.
From now on, if you're posting solely because of some obvious problem, and you haven't checked either the JKSpecs or the DM, or you haven't used Parsec, then I'll let you know...
Research Before Answering:
It's even more important to research your answer. Because if you give someone a bad answer, then they'll be even more confused then they were in the first place. And answers like that tend to spread - I've seen it happen many times. I can understand if it's something complicated and you couldn't test it easily, but do not post something like "created will not be sent to class cogs."
No Troublemaking:
I know sometimes tensions run a bit high, but that's no excuse to lash out at someone. That's so bad that it's not wanted even on the Discussion Forum, so if that's what you want to do, you'll have to go all the way to the Religious Debate Forum.
Use Code Tags:
Always use the UBB [/code] tags when posting code on the Cog Forum.

I apologize if I seem overly harsh, but I'm going to have to be more strict about things like this than I have been. Thanks for reading.![http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif]](http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif)
