What does it do? I've heard of this MotS verb a whole lot, it's like, legendary. It's what JK needs and all that.

What does it do? How does it work? It's not in Datamaster or anything...

There's a tutorial on it in the tutorials section, that should give you the generals of what it is and what it can do. It's called changing players actions or something similar.

Ah, the young Padawan want to learn of PlayerAction, then? Clearly coming of age he is, yes.

Playeraction is everything Obsidian and that... other guy... made it out to be and more. It allows for MotS to do everything that JK cannot do practically, and in a far easier fashion.

Ask any specific questions, and I will do my best to answer them.

I have long since had this idea.

You see, in Duel Zero, there's this saber system called Advanced Mouse Control.

What happens is strikes are inherently vertical, but you give them direction and change their pitch based on which direction you turn in and how fast, while firing.

But this idea I have - it's like, the swing goes in the actual motion the mouse does.

Naturally it would just be the mouse movement helping in the selection of the key, but apparently playeraction can trap headpitch.

Example: A diagonal uppercut would require the mouse to move at an upward diagonal to get the right animation.

Would this kind of thing be possible?

It would indeed be possible. I had plans for something like it for RoX.

I just don't have my papers on hand from RoX, and I doubt that I could find that specific sheet any time soon. What I'd suggest is that you have it so that it sets a variable when you fire (swing) the saber, then catches the playeraction to see which direction the mouse was moved. If it's pan right, swing right, pan up swing up, pan right and up, swing diagonally right, etc.

sounds nifty.... but im here to ask grismath if rox's will ever go anywhere? been trying to find you for a while, but since i have sorta vanished i haven't looked to hard. i worked on RoX a very very long time ago, with some weapons cogs and some lev cogs for the first level... so i was just wondering what happened to it? the page has been down for a long time [http://forums.massassi.net/html/tongue.gif]

Otherwise, any other RoX aspects are officially dead.
