Holes appear in 3d preview
2003-12-22, 6:43 AM #1
I've been doing some stuff with Jed lately, and I was doing Brian's beam tutorial, and once I get about halfway through if I open up 3d preview, I've got these holes in the floor and ceiling surface that appear, even though they aren't there in Jed. If I finish the beams, the ceiling hole disappears, but the floor one remains. What's the deal with this?

Did you check the consistency checker? One survace can only have 24 or so verticies, I remember running into that problem with that tutorial, juist cleave the surace in half and it should fix it.

Yo might also just have to re-start the 3D Preview.

That's typically a sign you have more than 24 vertices per surface. Like Stormtrooper said, it should show up in the consistency checker if that's the case.

You can try deleting unused vertices, but the easiest way to fix the problem is just cleave the surface in half.

select all the sectors, choose the vertex tool, and hit the 'Delete' key. If that doesn't work, cut the surface in half.
