I'm trying to find a tlieable texture of plowed dirt. I can't seem to find anything.

And while you're here, why not post where you download textures from.
It takes me forever to find textures, so I could use the info.

Well, I'd first look in Massassi. Nothing nice, then I'll try a Google. Nothing? Then I try making it with the help of Bryce.

Well, this is one of the places I get textures. They're certainly not the best, but if you work on'em a bit, they can turn out pretty nice. Not sure if you'll find any plowed dirt there, though.

I took this texture from the site Delphian posted, used Blender to make a 3d landscape shaped like a plowed field, applied the correct lighting, and ended up with the following:

Hopefully you aren't using that image as texture... if you're thinking to, you may as well cut it down to 64 x 64... that's the actual tiling size... that or modify it a bit.

I usually use a larger image (with mipmaps) and shrink it with UV to give a better resolution. I think I ended up using 128x128, though.

er how do you create your own textures?

A signature, how can something so small mean so much to some people, and so little to others?

Big question. I hear Reptile is good for this, but the b*stards won't send me the free key so I can use it.
Or you can do what I did and use Blender, if you're skilled enough.
It'd be pretty easy to make rocky textures with it. Making stuff tileable, however, is a bit more complex. And by "complex", I mean I have no idea how to do it.
