Lighting Problems...

So I have some pipe 3dos that go down a hallway, but the lighting on them is all screwed up. Here is a screenshot of said screwyness:

I've tried re-doing the lighting in different ways, I've added dynamic lights... nothing seems to work. Anyone have any suggestions?

Are they 3DOs?

Yah, even I'm not crazy enough to try and make that out of archi.

See, 3DOs light themselves in a wierd way. They take full lightmodes. Resave the 3DOs, but this time, make sure they're flagged as 'Blocks light.' Retry with dynamic lights. Tell me how that works, and we'll go from there. Post a picture, no matter what the results.

Block Light is a JED flag used with JED's light objects. It won't make a difference.

Anyway, poast a pic of what it looks like with the Dynamic Light.

Uh, blocks light is pretty much something you HAVE to have on, for lighting to hit a 3DO normally. Ask Friend14 or GBK. They'll tell you the exact same thing.

Umm... I know this probably sounds really stupid, but where is the "blocks light" flag? It's not in thingflags, and its not in sector flags either.

Since the blocks light flag seems to make a difference yet isn't a flag in the 3do (I don't think), does jed export it differently if the flag is set or something?

Not sure. What I do know, is that it lights it differently. You see, I think the idea is that a 3DO is non-solid. Therefore, you have to flag it as solid, as well as 'blocks light.' I think the reason why it effects or doesn't effect 3DOs is for the option to have a part of a 3DO block light, then a different part be see through, or something like that. I'll make more sense in the morning.

See datamaster regarding diffuse versus gouraud lighting. I bet you'd get the effect you're looking for with diffuse but I'm not JED expert.

Increasing the things extra light might also make them appear more uniform?

Well, the extra light was going to be my next step, after I see the blocks light pipes.

Well, I tried it with "blocks light" and it looks the exact same.

So I guess I'm going to have to do it manually, with extra light.

Are you sure your thinglight is set up right? Can you see the effects on the walkplayer?

Or maybe you've also got a real-light in the same sector, or in the same place?
