You know the metal catwalks? What are the object flags for other objects to stay on them? (eg. I place shields down on the catwalk) Because when I come to test the level the shields are missing.... (I managed to find them, they were @ the bottom of the sector and I actaully want them on the catwalk) I need this answer!!!!

Maybe something in the _walkstruct template? Make _walkstruct a parent of your own template and see if it works.

BTW: I always thought JK's pickups were unaffected by gravity.

This is probably a stoopid question, but did you check the 3d preview before testing? Usually when JED creates a thing, it's right on the floor
I've got a website. It's at Geocities because I'm too cheap to get my own site.

in JED add the section titled PHYSFLAGS to the list of the things' (the items') properties and remove 0x1

Why is the answer to why always why? Why is there no final answer to why? Simply why not? Holy cow, this is pretty deep, meaningful **** I wrote. Glad I wrote it down. Oh man."

i dont like working with JED... i can only work with JKEDIT, i find JKedit more easier to use....

That'll make this a bit harder. In JKEdit, the only way to change physflags is to make a new template. Do you know how to do that?

you could make make an adjoin "within" the catwalk that is impassable

I'm not sure, but I think this means the problem is solved. Right?

It's still unclear if it's solved or not. I actually have troubles understanding your problem at all, because last time I checked, pickups used to float in the air, not caring if there was solid ground under them.

Zagibu made a valid point. 3do's aren't affected by gravity. He probably just misplaced them...

Uhm, it depends on the template JoS.

And I have no idea what JKEdit defines the powerup templates as. I know Jed does it based on master.tpl which is based on the templates found in the original JKLs. But as for JKEdit, no clue what the template would be. It very well could be affected by gravity.

Could you specify which template it is?

He was talking about the shields.

Only the 'Force Throwable' objects are affected by gravity, such as the blocks, cubes, and rock debris.

I thought those were the default JK templates for these objects. I don't think it matters if you use JK Edit. Forgive if I'm wrong...

Hmms.

I do not have JKEdit program... however,
I do know that even in JED once you add an item to a sector, sometimes you have to move it around to where you want it placed with the level.

In JED, control+mouse will move the Thing selected to a new location. If available, find out how JKEdit moves items around inside a new level ( do we have any links to JKEdit tutorials or manuals to show him? )
[ might want to do a google search on 'jkedit' 'tutorial' if not ]

I do not think it is a problem with the template.

I think it is a problem with aligning and moving a new 3do once it has been added to the level. ( Again, speaking w/o experience in JKEdit.... if possible, see if you can view the level from different angles: top, side and front and see if the new 3do is positioned where you want it to be. It may be aligned correctly from one angle, but not another )

Let us know when and how you solved this problem, as it could also help other JKEdit editors out there ( and be added to some kind of tutorial / manual for later use ).
