Jed Downloading

I have finally found the site for Jed version 9.5 NOW I am confused on how to run it. I have downloaded it, and im trying to unzip it and play it. Remember that I only used JKEdit in the past and I didnt have to do any extracting or anything to open it up. When I try to open it up in winzip, it says it cannot find the master template. I am thinking its because im using disc 2 instead of disk 1. I want to become a JED editor and i need to know how to actually run JED.

Thanks,
Evil_knight

You can't run JED directly from the zip, you'll have to extract all the files from the zip first. Just use the WinZip wizard and extract all the jed files to some directory and then open jed from that directory.

As for the master.tpl file, it has nothing to do with the JK game disc. JED uses a file called 'master.tpl' (or Mots.tpl for Mots) to store all the game's original templates for things. JED was just saying that it couldn't access that file because it was still in the zip.

Well, with a proper extraction utility (like WinRAR), you can. But it's not so practical anyway :).
