Is there any movable object in JK that can be created in any level without syncing? One that has no timer and wont explode is prefered.

I'm trying to make a drop-weapon cog where the player can drop a weapon to be able to pick up another in it's place. The problem is that, when he drops it, it is picked up again instantly. So, I will solve this by creating a dummy weapon with phys movement and create the actual pickup template in its place after a timer passes. I need a good template for the dummy weapon. I might use +grenade2, but that will explode if it hits sombody or hits the wall too hard. Some strangities in JK's net code might make syncing a custom template a little strange, so I need a default JK template. Anybody have any ideas?

Why is the answer to why always why? Why is there no final answer to why? Simply why not? Holy cow, this is pretty deep, meaningful **** I wrote. Glad I wrote it down. Oh man."

Do what the forcepull cog did -- create the powerup, but set its collide to 0 so no one can touch it and pick it up, then set collide to 1 after x amount of time

(if I remember correctly, that's how LEC did it)

Those oddities are well known. Custom templates don't sync over the network. The solution is usually to use triggers to recreate the effect on each computer.

The problem with the collide/forcepull way is that if the player drops the weapon next to a wall, it will go into the void outside of the sector. I'll try the syncing way, but there's the possibilty of the position being slightly different on each side of the game, I think.

You are correct -- there is such a possibilty.

Despite what people may think, I've seen it -- when playing pwp2 against my brother, I was up on the metal bridge in CO and took a shot with the sniper rifle. My shot hit the bridge, and I saw on the other computer that the shot hit the wall.

Okay, well, to keep a stock of ideas, create a dummy thing via triggers on all computers. After the delay, send a trigger to remove the dummy things and create the powerup on the local computer only. It will have to be a template that is found in the level file, but it will prevent a separate, unsynced powerup being created on each computer
